A.Lange & Söhne is particularly known for two models: the Lange 1 and the Datograph. The so-called 'Dufourograph' is a special version of the Datograph. Produced from 2003 to 2005, this watch is the only one that the legendary and arguably most important living watchmaker Phillipe Dufour personally wore that was not made by him. Dufour praised the Datograph as "the best chronograph movement ever made". Moreover, it is the first Datograph made in rose gold.
Another interesting factor of this timepiece is the F at the end of the reference. The 'F' at the end means that this piece came with a folding clasp, a request that had to be made directly to Lange as this was not listed in the catalog.
Finally, it should be pointed out that the tachymeter scale at two o'clock reads 'METER', indicating that this dial is an earlier production, as later dials were changed to 'METERS'. It's a tiny detail that is hard for most to notice, but when it comes to precision made watches like a Datograph, the devil is always in the details.
